The dusky Bengali beauty, Bipasha Basu, was born in Delhi, grew up in Kolkata and now is based in Mumbai. She wanted to be a doctor since childhood. She pursued science for Plus 2 but did her graduation in Commerce, as doing all those horrid rat dissections made her faint. Then she planned to do Chartered accountancy, but fate had something else in store for her. She met Mehr Jessia, one of the famous supermodels in India, in a hotel in Kolkata and she compelled her to participate in the Famous Ford Supermodels Contest in 1996. She won the contest at 17 years of age and the rest is history. Bipasha went on to catwalk for all leading Indian designers.
